Huntington Shopping Center

Huntington Shopping Center is a 21-acre community shopping destination located at 350 Walt Whitman Road in Huntington Station, New York, situated in the heart of Long Island's premier retail corridor on Route 110, adjacent to Walt Whitman Mall. Originally developed as a traditional shopping center, the property is currently undergoing a transformative $75 million redevelopment by Federal Realty Investment Trust that will modernize the entire center with updated facades, reconstructed parking lots, new landscaping and walkways, and inviting outdoor seating areas. The redevelopment, announced in January 2022 and expected to complete in 2024, will bring a new Whole Foods Market to anchor the center alongside existing national retailers including PetSmart, ULTA Beauty, Tilly's, and Michaels. Upon completion, the center will feature 277,000 square feet of retail space with refreshed storefronts, updated signage and lighting, two new pad sites to accommodate additional tenants, and improved access through new entrances on both New York Avenue and Route 110. This reinvigoration aims to create a vibrant neighborhood destination that provides essential retail at a convenient location, serving the Long Island community with a carefully curated mix of shopping, services, and dining options that benefit local residents and visitors alike.
Huntington Shopping Center serves the affluent Long Island community of Huntington Station and surrounding areas, attracting middle to upper-middle income families with household incomes typically ranging from $80,000 to $150,000+. The primary trade area draws from suburban families aged 30-55 with children, as well as young professionals and empty nesters who value convenience and quality. Shoppers in this market segment prioritize essential retail combined with specialty services, seeking national brands they trust alongside dining and lifestyle amenities. The center's location on Route 110 in Huntington's main retail corridor positions it as a convenient destination for daily needs and weekly shopping trips for residents throughout central Long Island.
